The good folks at Larian Studios have just announced that they have decided to postpone the release of Divinity: Original Sin, the next game in the Divine Divinity series, until February 2014.

According to developers, the game will be out on February 28, 2014, and the reasons behind the delay are thoroughly explained by Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios, owner of highly acclaimed Divine Divinity franchise, on his blog.

The good news is that RPG fans, as well as those who pledged for the Kickstarter project between March 27 and April 26, 2013, will get a “much better RPG experience.”

Divinity: Original Sin was initially set for a November 2013 release, but due to a highly successfully Kickstarter campaign and the stretch goals it met, developers were faced with the option to delay the launch of the game or skip one or more of the extra features gained through these stretch goals.

Thankfully, Larian opted for the first choice and all the extra features promised will be included in the final version of the game.
