14 DAY TRIAL // Disney Interactive might be part of one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world, but that does not make it immune when it comes to downsizing and it seems that several hundred staff will be soon laid off in order to streamline its operations.
The information quoted by Gamasutra comes from inside sources, but it’s not clear what the motivation for the slimming down process is.
Disney Interactive has created and launched Disney Infinity, the combination of toys and video games that has performed very well on the market since it was launched last year.
Rumors also suggest that the company is working on versions of the title that will use the Marvel and the Star Wars universes.
It’s unclear how it will be able to handle two major projects with a reduced staff.
Disney itself has not offered any comment on the layoff rumors and says that it will announce official details on its projects at a later date.
