Video game publisher Disney announces that it has managed to sell no less than 3 million starter packs for its Disney Infinity since the game was launched in August of last year, a solid number for the experience that mixes real-world toys and virtual challenges.

During December alone, the title managed to deliver 551,000 units to players, just a little bit less than the 597,000 copies that its main rival, Skylanders Swap Force, managed during the same period, according to VG247.

Disney Infinity is a complex adventure that uses a wide range of heroes taken from the cartoon universe.

The company has also suggested that in 2014, it might offer new packages, which include content taken from the Marvel comic book cannon and from the Star Wars universe.

Both have been acquired by Disney and the company wants to make them available to as many fans as possible.
