Codemasters continues to offer more teases about its upcoming Dirt 4 racing game, this time confirming that the next title in the series will be oriented more towards hardcore rallying and might even appear on the PS4 next-gen console.

Codemasters has delivered some great racing games over the years but it's been a while since the last pure Dirt rally simulator, as the studio focused on other projects like Grid 2 or Dirt Showdown.

According to recent teaser images and statements, a Dirt 4 should be released later this year.

Now, Dirt series Chief Game Designer Paul Coleman has talked a bit more about the next title on Twitter. When asked by a fan if Dirt 4 could be more rally-oriented, Coleman replied that it "can and it will."

What's more, when asked if the next Dirt game will support Logitech driving wheels on the PS4, the developer confirmed that it "shouldn't be a problem."

As such, it's possible that Dirt 4 might appear for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One this year.
