A report coming from SuperData Research says that the digital games market in the United States has increased by 25 percent over the same period of 2012 and has surpassed the 1 billion dollar (760 million Euro) mark.

The launch of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 has contributed to the results because players were able to get launch titles via digital distribution rather than go into retail stores, according to alistdaily.

And both PC and consoles downloadable content pack sales have increased by 41 percent when compared to 2012, while mobile and social gaming saw more limited growth.

Free-to-play MMOs have attracted less revenue.

SuperData Research says that Call of Duty: Ghosts, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are the video games that generated the most digital sales.

The NPD Group has also reported an increase for the video game industry as a whole, but a decline of retail sales for actual titles.
