Sony has confirmed that retail games for the PlayStation Vita will be released onto the PlayStation Network as digital editions with a lower price.

The PlayStation Vita is getting ready for its launch at the end of the month, alongside a hefty variety of games made by Sony and other third-party developers.

Now, Sony has confirmed that the variety of retail games for the Vita will be eventually released as digital editions onto the PlayStation Network online service, where they’ll be available with a slightly lower price.

“Yes, there will be a discount on the downloadable PS Vita titles from PSN. Exact details have not yet been revealed, but be on the lookout for an announcement in the near future,” Sony representative told Shacknews.

This statement arrived after a Best Buy customer saw the store’s internal computer, which mentioned that digital versions of games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, Modnation Racers, Hotshots Golf or Escape Plan would be released at a later time with a lower price than their retail versions.

Will these smaller prices make you wait for digital editions of PS Vita games or do you prefer retail versions with physical copies?
