Players can see how the concept became game reality

Video game developer Blizzard has worked with the community built around its title to create an entirely new Legendary Weapon for the action role-playing game and a new blog post offers a wealth of details about the process and the result.

Aaron Gaines, a character design artist who is focusing on weapons, states on the official site that, “I started by being excited because I love Mephisto, and apparently, so does everyone else… which is awesome. After that it was a mix of successfully translating the idea of the item visually and then taking into consideration some of the awesome suggestions from the forum posts.”

Working with the community is a challenge, given that players have wildly different ideas about what kind of content they want in their game.

At the moment, Blizzard is putting the finishing touches on Reaper of Souls, the new expansion for Diablo 3 that will be offered in March and adds a range of new items, more adventures and the Crusader Class.
