Blizzard has confirmed that, based on feedback from players, it's reducing the cooldown for the character transfer mechanic from the regular game into the Public Test Realm to 24 hours, as opposed to the old 72.

Diablo 3 fans finally received patch 2.1.0 last week, but so far the update is available just for testing on a special public realm set up by Blizzard.

Players can either start all-new characters in the PTR or import their existing characters from the regular game.

Previously, this character copy system had a 72-hour cooldown, meaning players had to wait three days before transferring their characters once more.

Now, however, Blizzard has confirmed on Battle.net that it's changing that setting to just 24 hours, as it has listened to player feedback and wants to provide a great testing experience for them.

"Based on player feedback and the desire to provide a more optimal testing environment, we've reduced the cooldown for PTR character copies from 72 hours to 24 hours, effective immediately," the studio said.

However, remember that the great gear you find in the Diablo 3 update 2.1.0 PTR can't be imported back into the regular game.

The final version of the patch will be released once it finishes testing on the PTR.
