The development team at Blizzard says that the 2.0.1 patch for Diablo 3 is just around the corner and that gamers should be ready for the changes that it will introduce once it is downloaded and applied.

On the official blog, the studio explains that gamers can expect an optimization process that will prepare the game for the coming patch and the new Reaper of Souls expansion and that the official launcher will then download the rest of the needed data.

All new content can then be accessed and the next time Diablo 3 is launched, the launcher will be updated to Battle.net.

The entire process is detailed with helpful screenshots on the official site.

Blizzard adds, “On patch day, you will also have to go through a code-optimization process similar to what's outlined Step 1 above. Expect it to take 15 to 60 minutes or so, and keep in mind your computer might run a little slower than usual during the process.”
