Guess where the bucket comes from, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more

Destiny hopped on the bandwagon and joined the growing ranks of people pouring water over their heads, adding its own little personal twist to the thing.

Leaving aside the fact that atmospheric friction and ice don’t mix, the video shows the Ghost, AI companion voiced by “Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage, taking on the challenge and delivering a new spin on the “that Wizard came from the moon” meme from the first-person shooter’s alpha test.

The nice thing about the whole thing, which was lauded by some as genius marketing and considered by others nothing but yet another distraction for people who don’t realize how many books there are to read in this world, is that it’s for a very good cause.

The ice bucket challenge is meant to raise awareness and donations that go toward researching for a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the debilitating neurodegenerative disease that affects Stephen Hawking and many unfortunate others.

Individuals affected by the hereditary disease, that causes muscle weakness and atrophy throughout the body, may eventually lose the ability to initiate all manner of voluntary movement.

Ghost passed the challenge on to Jeremy Irons (voiced by Kevin Spacey) from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, The Last of Us’ Joel and George Lucas

Destiny is currently scheduled to come out on September 9, headed to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
