The development team at Bungie and publisher Activision are taking advantage of the Gamescom 2014 event to deliver a new trailer for their upcoming Destiny, which is designed to focus on the competitive multiplayer that gamers will be able to get in the coming title.

The two companies state, "If you were one of the brave testers in the Destiny Beta, you might have had your first taste of competitive action in the Crucible. When Destiny launches on September 9th, you’ll have even more ways to prove your skill against other champions of the last safe city on Earth."

Those who perform well will be able to get access to special armor, weapons, and other items that can then be used in all the other modes associated with Destiny.

The included modes are Skirmish, Rumble, Salvage, Clash, Combined Arms, Control, and Iron Banner.

Destiny will be launched on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PS3, and the 360 on September 9 all over the world.

Eric Hirschberg, the leader of the publishing division at Activision, took to the stage during the Sony press conference in order to announce that the Sony platforms would get an exclusive timed map called Exodus Blue.

The first downloadable content for Destiny will arrive on all platforms in December of this year and it is called The Dark Below, although no other details about it have been offered.
