A brand new report has appeared online focusing on the hard drive space required by the upcoming Destiny beta stage, which is around 14.3GB on the PS4 and 12.6GB on the Xbox One.

Destiny launches this September and you can bet that the new multiplayer first-person shooter will occupy a lot of space on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, not to mention on the older PS3 and Xbox 360 devices.

For now, however, fans are eagerly awaiting the beta stage for Destiny, which is set to debut this month across all platforms.

According to Gamepur, some PS4 and Xbox One owners have already been able to preload the Destiny beta and have shared details about the file sizes on the two platforms.

First up, on the PS4, the Destiny beta needs around 14.3GB of HDD space. While at first it only has a 179MB download, it will promptly get another file of around 13.2GB that gets unpacked and reaches the grand total of 14.3GB.

On the Xbox One, there's just a single download of 12.63GB, apparently.

It's unclear how much space the Destiny beta will need on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, but it's already been mentioned that it will not be available for consoles with no or very little hard drive space, like the 12GB PS3 or the 4GB Xbox 360.
