Video game publisher Tecmo Koei has revealed that it plans to launch its fighting game Dead or Alive 5 during September of this year, simultaneously on all major markets.

The company has not mentioned an actual date during its most recent financial report to investors.

Dead or Alive 5 will be delivered simultaneously on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the first modern title in the series to do so.

The fighting game is being developed by Team Ninja and the designers have expressed a desire to humanize the various characters and deliver more emotion, in addition to updating the mechanics in order to satisfy modern gamers.

The Dead or Alive series has been well known for the overt exploitation of the sexual aspect of its cast of characters, but the developers have promised to tone down this aspect for the fifth title in the series.
