14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Crackle working on the new Dead Rising Watchtower movie is ready to deliver the first trailer for it, and the two minutes of footage are suggesting that there's not much of a link between the coming film and the video game franchise on which it is based.
The premise of the two is the same though, with an infection rapidly spreading through a city as a cast of characters try to get out, while a conspiracy runs in the background.
The stars of Dead Rising Watchtower include Jesse Metcalfe, Dennis Haysbert, Virginia Madsen, Meghan Ory, Keegan Connor and Rob Riggle.
The problem is that the movie seems to be uninterested in any sort of humor and will not feature any of the over-the-top situations or weapons that have made the video game series a fan favorite and have resulted in so many cool fan-made video moments.
Dead Rising Watchtower will be launched this year and might be the first release in a series.
The video game series of the same name has managed to make a strong debut on the Xbox One, but for now no plans for its future have been revealed by either Capcom or Microsoft Studios.
