The long-awaited PlayStation Vita version of Dead Nation is finally coming out, available today, April 15 in North America and tomorrow, April 16 in Europe.

The game has been expected for quite some time on the handheld gaming platform from Sony, as the port was first announced at E3 2013.

Dead Nation was developed by Finnish video game studio Housemarque and was initially released for the PlayStation 3 in 2010.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world, and its premise is very simple: shoot everything that moves and try to survive for as long as possible.

Players can choose either male or female characters, and then proceed to fighting different types of zombies, gaining points and money which and be used to upgrade weapons at checkpoints.

The PlayStation Vita version will be available for $8 / €6, and the Road of Devastation DLC can be purchased separately for half that price.

In what undoubtedly is some great news, Dead Nation is a cross-buy title, which means that owners of the PlayStation 3 version will be able to download the PS Vita one right away, at no additional charge. The game is also available on the PlayStation 4 next-gen console, since March this year.
