The game is still in the pre-alpha state and has quite a few bugs

Dean Hall, the main developer working on the standalone version of DayZ, is offering fans of the title a new gameplay video that shows what the experience is like at the moment, while also offering a few more details on its future.

The game creator states, “This is pre-alpha footage, so it makes no effort to mask the variety of bugs. Our whole focus is on getting the alpha out, which means focusing on Multiplayer (server) performance.”

DayZ is set to take the core ideas of the ArmA mod and expand them in order to create a more engaging and realist zombie-fighting experience.

Dean Hall and Bohemia Interactive are saying that the game will only be released once it is feature complete, but a database entry suggests that it might soon be offered via the Steam Early Access service from Valve.
