David Cage, the leader of developer Quantic Dream, says that he sees connectivity as one of the defining characteristics of the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The company that will handle this feature of the consoles best will be the winner of the generation, according to an interview that’s quoted by NeoGAF.

Cage says, “we expect consoles that are more open, to the mobile world in particular, with a systematic inclusion of tablets or phones as a ‘second screen’.”

The creator of titles like Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain says that it’s unclear which one of the next-gen consoles will be the best seller in one year’s time.

Quantic Dream is at the moment working on a new title for the PlayStation 4, which will be focused on emotion and choice, but no details have been offered about the mechanics or the story for now.
