Yui Tanimura, the game director working on Dark Souls 2 at From Software, says that his team will prioritize the PC version of the upcoming title after many gamers have complained that the first title in the series failed to take advantage of the unique elements of the platform.

The developer tells Shacknews that, “Last time, we started working on PC after the console version was complete.”

He adds, “This time, because we are considering the PC from the beginning, you can be sure there will be more care put into PC development.”

Tanimura admits that From Software has more experience working on home consoles than on the PC.

Dark Souls 2 is expected to arrive very late in 2013 or early next year.

The team has already confirmed that it currently has no plans to move the game to next-gen devices.
