A giant banner for Dark Souls 2 has appeared near the Los Angeles Convention Center building that will host E3 2013, teasing a March 2014 launch date, and publisher Namco Bandai has confirmed that the game is set to arrive in less than one year's time.

The confirmation was offered to Joystiq but the company is not yet willing to give an exact date for the launch of Dark Souls 2.

The game is expected to arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

The development team at From Software has promised an experience as unforgiving as that of the first title in the series but with improved gameplay mechanics that can appeal to a wider audience.

Dark Souls 2 will include an expanded game world, more enemies to fight and new options for players.
