The Dark Souls 2 box art has just been revealed and it brings good news for PC gamers, as that version of the cover has no mention of Games for Windows Live, the controversial DRM system used for the PC edition of Dark Souls 1.

Dark Souls II received quite a lot of great details in the recent week, including two gameplay videos and a set of screenshots.

Now, NeoGAF has posted the official covers of the game's three editions for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms.

While there's nothing out of the ordinary, the PC edition doesn't feature the distinct Games for Window Live logo, which could mean that developer From Software decided to scrap the controversial DRM system with the new game.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition appeared last year on PC and used GfWL, causing lots of problems for PC gamers who got the game, so it's great to hear that things might change with the next installment.
