Dan Houser, one of the co-founders of Rockstar, says that his team would be interested in creating a new video game set in London, but that it will probably not use the Grand Theft Auto series and its unique mechanics for the experience.

The executive is quoted by VG247 as saying that, “I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don’t think it would be a GTA necessarily.”

GTA V is a loving virtual re-creation of Southern California and Los Angeles and the team has done on-the-ground research for more than 100 days in order to achieve the impressive in-game result.

However, Houser does believe that in the coming years, the series will be more varied in terms of locations and stories, although it might never leave the shores of America.

GTA V has impressed on launch in terms of sales and support from the critic community.
