The development team at Valve in charge of DOTA 2 announces that it is introducing an entirely new Compendium that will be linked to the 2014 installment of The International, the biggest tournament associated with the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena.

The system is the same as last year, which means that money that is associated with the online Compendium will be used to enhance the prize pool for the competition, which is already one of the biggest in the world of eSports.

Each DOTA 2 purchase will add 2.50 dollars (1.78 Euro) to the overall sum and at the moment, the total is well over 2.5 million dollars (1.825 million Euro).

A number of rewards are associated with the Compendium and Valve plans to unlock them as the total prize pool reaches a certain milestone.

The International tournament for DOTA 2 will take place in the Key Arena in Seattle between July 18 and 21 of this year and the most capable gamers from all over the world will take part in qualifying events until that time.

The Valve MOBA is one of the most popular on the market at the moment, but it is facing tough competition from League of Legends from Riot Games and the upcoming Heroes of the Storm from Blizzard.
