The team at Valve in charge of DOTA 2 is announcing that it is cutting the prices for its Ability Point packs, presumably in order to make it easier for gamers to pick them up and use them in the coming weeks.

A 1000 package is now offered for 2.49 dollars (1.99 Euro) instead of the previous 3.99 dollars (3.2 Euro), and all those who got it before the price cut will receive an additional one as compensation.

Similar deals are offered for the 2400 Ability Point pack, and for Arcana the number of included points has been increased to 4800.

Valve adds, "Recycling Ability Points increased from 25 to 50 Ability Points. These will be retroactively added to everyone who recycled items."

Many gamers are saying that the changes mean that DOTA 2 is moving towards a future where it will be easier for gamers to spend real-world money in order to win matches.

Other simply believe that Valve is responding to the way the market built around the MOBA title is evolving.

At the moment, the game is running a major Year Beast competition in which the points are very useful, and at the same time gamers can also take part in the New Bloom 2015 event.
