Some of the proceeds will go to the Call of Duty Endowment fund

In honor of Independence Day, Activision has slashed the prices on downloadable content packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops by 50% on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Many companies are running all sorts of discounts nowadays in order to celebrate not just summer but also Independence Day in the U.S.

Activision is the latest company to engage in a discount spree, slashing the prices of downloadable content packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops by 50%.

The discounted DLC packs are available on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that provides job placement and training services for veterans.

The price cuts last until July 9.
