The team at DICE in charge of the multiplayer servers for Battlefield 3 says that it is continuing to work on the connectivity issues that are affecting them and currently does not have a clear timeframe for a solution.

The team says in an official update that, "We share your frustration about the impact this has had to our service and the ability for many of you to play Battlefield 3. We are working tirelessly to mitigate the problem."

The fact that user data is not currently threatened should come as a relief to the fan community.

It's unclear why the multiplayer Battlefield 3 servers are under attack or how long the problem might last.

DICE says that it is currently performing rolling restarts of the servers and that it will offer more updates as soon as the situation changes.
