The team will only use the tech when it's appropriate

Karl Magnus Troedsson, the general manager of developer DICE, says that Battlefield 4 is designed to support the Kinect motion tracking system on the new Xbox One home console.

Videogamer is quoting an interview from Game Informer in which the executive states that the technology will only be used when the gameplay asks for it.

He adds, “Instead of just trying to tick all the boxes of features you can do with new hardware, we look at what actually adds value our players.”

Troedsson admits that the first-person shooter genre requires precise input and that Kinect is not suited to that task.

At the same time, he says that “there are other places where it will make sense, and we are going to use it for other things in the game.”

He is not yet willing to talk about the exact Battlefield 4 features that will be exclusive to the Xbox One.
