Video game developer DICE announces that all stats and profile upgrades that gamers earn in Battlefield 4 on the current generation of consoles can be transferred to the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft when they are launched.

The team says, "all the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade."

Premium membership for Battlefield 4 can also be transferred between generations, which means that players can purchase the service when the game launches and continue to use it on next-gen platforms.

The announcement from DICE and Electronic Arts comes after a similar feature was revealed for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Battlefield 4 will be out on October 29 in the United States on the PC and current-gen devices and it will also have versions for the next-gen platforms from Sony and Microsoft.
