The analysts at DFC Intelligence are saying that they expect the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft to sell more than 100 million each before the end of 2020, with the market starting to feel the effect of their launches this year.

The overall game revenue for 2014 is expected to reach 77 million dollars (55 million Euro) and the value will continue to increase for every subsequent year.

DFC Intelligence expects the PS4 to be more successful than the Xbox One because it has a lower initial price point and because it remains the more attractive console for European players.

Analyst David Cole is quoted by VG247 as saying that, “We modeled price cuts into that but we think they are going to happen fairly slowly and there are likely to be more bundles versus just a straight price cut. We think they will do their best to maintain a solid price point.”
