Video game developer DICE says that the Spectator Mode implementation for Battlefield 4 is designed to appeal to competitive gamers and make it easier than ever to stream eSports competitions.

Daniel Matros, an assistant producer, and Dennis Brannvall, a gameplay designer, explain that Obliteration seems especially appropriate for matches that offer spectacular moments, which are best suited for streaming.

In an official blog post, the pair states, “we considered whether to just not allow Spectators on servers with 64 players, due to all the challenges that would mean for developing it. But we realized we had to support it – and it had to be a good experience.”

The Spectator Mode in Battlefield 4 will offer more views and will also accommodate those who want to learnt the game or those who are simply looking for spectacular footage.

The shooter will be out on October 29 in North America and three days later in Europe.
