Developer Swery, best known for his work on Deadly Premonition, says that his new title D4, an abbreviation for Dark Dreams Don’t Die, is designed to tap into the same vein of weirdness and mystery that captivated fans of its first project.

The game, which is being developed for the Xbox One, is set to star a detective named David who has the ability to simply touch an object and then travel back into its past in order to find clues and solve crimes.

His goal is to prevent a terrible event that will happen to Peggy, his wife.

Swery tells IGN, “Deadly Premonition was a little bit weird, and this one’s also a little bit weird.”

He also says that there are some similarities to the Walking Dead series from Telltale Games.

Apparently, David understands that the past cannot actually be changed and this is one of the main mysteries of D4.
