D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, the mystery game from Japanese developer Access Games, got a brand new trailer, showcasing some of the macabre and quirky action it offers.

The title is exclusive to the Xbox One home entertainment system, and although it can be played with a controller, it's designed to be enjoyed with the Kinect, featuring a lot of motion-heavy quick time events.

The video shows some of the accolades the game received from various reviewers and offers a glimpse of the bizarre happenings that players are able to experience while playing the title.

Hidetaka Suehiro, better known by his industry nickname Swery, was also the director of Access Games' previous motion control-centric video game, the psychological horror thriller Deadly Premonition.

D4 follows the adventures of a private investigator, David Young, traveling through time and seeking to undo the events that led to his wife's murder. The title hints at the fourth dimension, time, added to the Euclidean space coordinates to create a space-time continuum.

The player cannot travel through time at his whim, but instead must find certain relevant objects that trigger the powers and bring the gamer to specific points in time.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die was released on September 19, 2014, exclusively for the Xbox One. The adventure title is scheduled to be expanded in an episodic manner, and so far the first two episodes are available.
