The Old Gods expansion for the grand-strategy title Crusader Kings 2 has been confirmed for a May 28 launch date, exclusively via digital distribution services, and the development team is celebrating by delivering a new gameplay-focused trailer for the title.

The new content is designed to take players back in time, with a new start date in 867 that includes a much more fragmented version of Europe and the ability to play with a number of Pagan factions.

This means that Viking invasions are a possibility and that the team has introduced a number of mechanics designed to simulate their unique nature: pillaging, raids, characters that lack land and go on adventures.

The clash of religions will make the entire Crusader Kings 2 experience more interesting and will allow players to rewrite more of the continent’s history.
