Valve has confirmed that it's extending the Operation Phoenix event for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive indefinitely, as it's still working on the next operation for the popular multiplayer first-person shooter.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive may have had a rocky start back in summer of 2012 but, since then, Valve has been adamant in terms of updates and new feature releases and has slowly turned the game into a popular multiplayer experience, lagging behind only its other major online title, Dota 2, in terms of activity on the Steam service.

Now, the studio has revealed on the official blog that it's extending the Operation Phoenix event for a few more weeks, as it's still working hard on putting the finishing touches on the next major operation.

“Great news, Operation Phoenix fans! Operation Phoenix will be extended for a bit as we work toward the next operation. We’ll have more information as we get closer to that event, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, there’s still time to upgrade those Phoenix Coins. Don’t miss your second chance,” the studio said.

Operation Phoenix, like previous events in the series, was actually a paid DLC pack containing maps made by the community that were available on official servers for both the casual and competitive mode.

Expect to hear about the next CS:GO Operation in the near future.
