The development team at Relic has just launched the new Company of Heroes 2 – The Western Front and the studio is also delivering a major balance patch for the military strategy series, designed to improve the multiplayer experience for the entire community.

The new features that are being introduced include a public games list, which should make it easier to get access to a match, a new War Spoils system, which some gamers have already criticized, a character progression system and the addition of Victory Strikes.

A range of bugs have been eliminated and the pathfinding in many of the maps in the title has been significantly improved.

Relic has also introduced a range of tweaks to the various units and powers of the factions included in the game and the full list can be seen in the official announcement.

The biggest of them is probably the reduction of damage for Area of Effect weapons at mid-range.

The studio will deliver more changes in the coming weeks, as more reports from the community reveal more issues and balance problems.

The Western Front Armies introduces the United States forces and the German Oberkommando West to the Company of Heroes 2 experience and there are eight entirely new maps, inspired by the Battle of the Bulge, to try them out on.
