Collateral is an open-world, vehicular combat game set in a cyberpunk background. Players are thrown into the role of Zack Edgewater, a cab driver in a dystopian future, driving a fully-customizable and armed hover car at blazing speeds while, causing all manner of chaos and explosions around the city.

The game was successfully crowd-funded on Kickstarter earlier this year, and for those of you who enjoyed Crazy Taxi but wished it looked just a little bit more like Blade Runner and borrowed some features (like hood-mounted machine guns) from 20-year-old Quarantine, this seems like the perfect fit.

Those of you interested in the game, but who didn't get a change to participate in Collateral's Kickstarter, will be pleased to learn that the game has recently entered an open backer alpha, and that the official game site offers access to the game right now, for the price of $25 / €18.

Scheduled for release on PC during mid-2014, Collateral is also featured on Steam Greenlight, patiently waiting for enough support to land a position on Valve's digital distribution platform.
