Investigate North, a Danish video game development studio, has released a short video for its upcoming experimental massively multiplayer online mystery game Cloud Chamber, stating the team's vision for the nonconformist manner in which its story is delivered.

The video features Christian Fonnesbech, director of Cloud Chamber, sharing that as technology progresses, so should the ways in which we perceive the world around us do, and that the linear storytelling characteristic to books and video games is a thing of the past.

Cloud Chamber is not your typical MMO, as it doesn't feature mobs, combat and other such industry standards, but instead has its players delve into its world and explore a landscape that represents a computer network littered with various cryptic files.

As players open the files and figure out their secrets, they are encouraged to post their discoveries and theories on integrated message boards, sharing them with other players, and just like in the real world, some threads will attract replies and likes, which will represent how players progress through the ranks.

The game represents a niche that is currently non-existent on the market, the notion behind it being an innovative enough premise that it's sure to spark some interest from the indie community.

Developer Investigate North is currently expected to launch Cloud Chamber sometime this summer, on Steam.
