The development team at XLGames is ready to offer more information about Civilization Online, the game based on the massive franchise that will use an MMO structure and will allow players to inhabit any role they know from the strategy series.

The entire experience will be in real time and gamers will start out as a normal citizen who needs to work together with other members of his civilization in order to create buildings, research tech and make sure that they do not fall behind competitors.

Building and warfare are designed as separate activities that players will need to perform and gamers will be able to attack a single enemy or get a group together in order to take out enemy cities, according to Joystiq.

Sid Meier only gave approval to the general vision of the game and is not involved in its day-to-day development.

Civilization Online will be created using CryEngine 3 and will only be launched on the PC.
