Video game developer Firaxis and publisher 2K Games are announcing that the Winter Update for Civilization: Beyond Earth is now live on the PC, with gamers prompted to download it as soon as they log into Steam.

The patch was announced almost one month ago and it seems that since then the studio has not made any modifications to the list of changes that will be applied to the turn-based strategy title.

A full list can be seen by clinking on the button at the end of this article.

The most important change made by the Winter Update for Civilization: Beyond Earth is linked to Wonders, which should now be more useful to players, and there are also plenty of tweaks made to the Artificial Intelligence of competing factions.

It's unclear whether Firaxis will announce a new patch for the title soon or if there are plans to reveal an expansion for it.

Civilization: Beyond Earth was seen by many as a modern take on the classic Alpha Centauri concept, but the title that arrived late last year is much closer than many expected to the core elements of the franchise.

The move to a new planet introduces some new challenges, including aggressive fauna, but both diplomacy and customization are a little too limited at the moment.
