Cities: Skylines developer Colossal Order has just released a new video meant to show the team's love and everlasting passion for cities in all forms.

The video is the first of a scheduled three, featuring Colossal Order's Chief Executive Officer Mariina Hallikainen, Cities: Skylines' Lead Designer Karoliina Korppoo, and Paradox Interactive's Jakob Munthe, all talking about what makes the game so great.

The three state their love for old-school city builders and their vision for the upcoming sandbox game, including their obsession with traffic and how it is modeled in the city building simulation.

The next video in the series will offer more information on the features of the game and will have even more developers expressing their passion for cities and game-making.

The game offers city-building enthusiasts massive maps and complete freedom over the fate of their cities, enabling them to create their perfect metropolises, with population counts as high as one million (although the devs did state that it would be extremely challenging).

Furthermore, mod support from day one means that gamers will be able to create their own amazing buildings and landscapes and share them with the world, while also having the option to import their own assets and use them in the simulation.

An example of this is the exclusive Japanese Garden that players who sign up for the Cities: Skylines newsletter will be able to get and decorate their towns with.

Cities: Skylines is set for release sometime later in 2015.
