Cai Wu, one of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture in China, says that his country will create a complex series of guidelines that will govern the sale of video game related content in order to make sure that no hostile titles are launched.

The news comes after the country announced that it was allowing foreign game consoles to be sold on the mainland after 14 years.

Eurogamer quotes the Communist official as saying that, “Things that are hostile to China, or not in conformity with the outlook of China's government, won't be allowed. We want to open the window a crack to get some fresh air, but we still need a screen to block the flies and mosquitoes.”

Recently, China banned the sale of Battlefield 4 after the China Rising DLC pack was launched, saying that it was promoting a negative attitude towards the country.

It will be interesting to see whether publishers are willing to censor their games in order to secure releases on the big market.
