14 DAY TRIAL // Discord Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming Metroidvania 2D action role-playing game Chasm, showing the game world's second area.
Chasm is a game that takes inspiration from both platformers and hack and slash dungeon crawlers, and will offer players a procedurally generated fantasy world full of treasure and perils.
The new video previews some of the challenges awaiting players who dare venture into the game's underground world.
Chasm will allow players to explore six procedurally assembled areas, made out of hand-crafted rooms, and enjoy authentic retro pixel art during their clashes with the denizens of the fantasy world, including boss battles and many secrets to uncover.
Adventurers will also be able to customize their characters by equipping various armor and weapons, shields and spells to either hands, and will be able to discover new special abilities that will allow them to gain access to previously unreachable areas.
The game is currently in development for Windows, Mac and Linux, scheduled for release during fall 2014, and is available for pre-order on the Chasm website.
