Sony has confirmed that Deep Down, the mysterious game for the PlayStation 4 coming from Capcom will be a free-to-play experience and that a beta is set to appear around the PS4's Japanese launch, which takes place on February 22, 2014.

Deep Down was one of the most intriguing announcements made by Capcom for the PlayStation 4 and in recent weeks we've learned that it actually takes place in the future, although players can travel in the past and explore medieval adventures.

Now, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has revealed on Twitter that Deep Down is a free-to-play experience and that a beta stage for the online title will take place "around" the launch of the PlayStation 4 in Japan, which is scheduled for February 22, 2014.

No other details have been given so it seems that those interested in Deep Down will have to wait and see just what aspects are free and what need currency from players.
