Infinity Ward has revealed that a full pledged title update for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 first person shooter will arrive for the PlayStation 3 later this week.
Modern Warfare 3 amazed millions upon millions of gamers when it appeared last month, quickly managing to reach $1 billion in sales in just 16 days.
Since then, the teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, the co-developers of the game, have been busy issuing patches and hotfixes for the title in order to fix problems, eliminate exploits, and balance out the multiplayer experience.
After deploying a brand new hotfix earlier this week for the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling confirmed that a new update, number 7, will arrive later this week on the PlayStation 3, although a concrete release date is unknown because it all depends on the certification process.
Expect more details about the patch as soon as possible.
