The game may not look so great when it first boots up

Infinity Ward has just confirmed that the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts installs the high-res textures in the background once the disk is in the next-gen console, so it might take up to 30 minutes for the game to look really impressive.

Call of Duty: Ghosts on the PS4 takes advantage of the console's background installing function to save the high-res texture files onto the hard drive.

Infinity Ward has confirmed on Twitter that this process is completed in around 10 to 15 minutes but that, if players immediately start the game and play its single-player or multiplayer campaign, the process could take up to 30 minutes.

As such, players shouldn't be disappointed with the game's visuals when Ghosts starts up, as it still uses the compressed textures taken from the Blu-ray disc.
