The development team at Infinity Ward and publisher Activision are delivering a new teaser video for their Call of Duty: Ghosts, which shows off a new weapon, called the Ripper, and hints that a bigger announcement with more map content is coming soon.

The footage was delivered via Instagram, and the accompanying message reads: “Season Pass holders: this is for you. | #cod #callofduty #codghosts”

The phrase might mean that the downloadable content that will be revealed will only be offered to those who have already purchased a Season Pass for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

This would make the hardcore fans of the first-person shooter very happy but might antagonize more casual players.

The new Ripper weapon seems to mix submachine gun and assault rifle capabilities, giving players more options on the battlefield, and the new map that’s being teased seems to be focused on an underground location that will open up towards a bridge.

A multiplayer demo for Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available during the coming weekend, allowing all interested players to experience the Onslaught downloadable content for free starting on Friday, March 21.

This year’s Call of Duty video game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and will be released in the fall.
