The new plot is quite short and unimpressive, apparently

A brand new report has appeared online claiming that Call of Duty: Ghosts, the next iteration in the shooter series, has a single-player story campaign that lasts just four and a half hours.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to appear tomorrow, November 5, all around the world for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii U, and later this month for the next-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox one.

The new title will once again deliver the same great multiplayer experience that's a trademark for the series, but also a brand new story taking place in the near future.

According to a report from CinemaBlend, the single-player story campaign will last around 4.5 hours, as the site received a tip from someone who has already completed Ghosts' plot.

While the information can't be verified just yet, as Activision hasn't officially released the game and reviews for it are under an embargo, it's quite likely that the story campaign won't be particularly long, given the previous entries in the series.
