Video game developer Infinity Ward says that it plans to launch a day one patch for the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts that will increase the resolution of the single-player campaign to native 1080p.

The game will only run at 720p for those who do not download the update in the campaign.

The multiplayer side of Call of Duty: Ghosts runs at 1080p natively with or without the day one patch.

A spokesperson from Activision is quoted by Eurogamer as saying that, "There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single-player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p."

Call of Duty: Ghosts can already be played on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.
