A special free trial weekend for the Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC has just been confirmed to take place between April 25 and 28, allowing PS3 and PS4 owners of the first-person shooter to try out the add-on for free.

Call of Duty: Ghosts appeared on a wide variety of platforms last year and, since then, a few different DLC packs have been released by developer Infinity Ward, including big add-ons like Onslaught or Devastation, and smaller personalization packs.

Now, for the upcoming weekend between April 25 and April 28, Infinity Ward has revealed on the official website that a free trial of the Onslaught DLC is going to be available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

In case you forgot, the add-on brings four new small to medium-sized competitive multiplayer maps to the game, in the form of Fog, Bayview, Containment, and Ignition. The DLC also features one new scenario for the Extinction co-op mode called Nightfall.

Last but not least, it brings forth the Maverick gun, a hybrid assault rifle and sniper rifle, which can change modes on the fly.

In case you like it, you can buy Onslaught standalone via the PlayStation Store or as part of the Season Pass for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
