Mark Rubin, the executive producer working on Call of Duty: Ghosts, says that launching a new first-person shooter for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 can be an awkward experience when the team also has to deal with the current generation of hardware.

He tells Edge that, "The way I look at it is the first game on a next gen console is the hardest one to make. It’s like a first date. There’s a lot of figuring out what’s going on and very little knowledge of each other."

The developer talks about Call of Duty 2 and the way the series progressed after its launch as a good way to evaluate the performance of Ghosts.

The new Call of Duty will be launched on November 5 on the PC and current-gen consoles and will also have versions for the next gen of hardware from Sony and Microsoft.
