The story campaign of the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is going to be longer than that of recent installments like Ghosts or Black Ops 2, according to one of its developers.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is this year's major installment in the first-person shooter series published by Activision and it's also the first game on which Sledgehammer Games has had full development duties, not to mention a three-year production cycle.

The result is quite impressive, with recent videos, screenshots, and details painting a very pretty picture about the game, both in terms of single-player and multiplayer modes.

According to Sledgehammer boss Glen Schofield, Advanced Warfare is going to have a longer single-player story campaign than the "last few" games in the series, although he declines to say just how many hours are needed to finish it.

Recent installments in the series, like Call of Duty: Ghosts or Black Ops 2, have seen their stories conclude after 6 to 8 hours, depending on the difficulty, so it's good to see that Advanced Warfare wants to up that figure.

The new Call of Duty game launches on November 4 worldwide for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.
